Valparaiso walking tour

Valparaíso has the shape of a natural amphitheater facing the sea in which almost the entire city hangs from the hills, in a disorderly harmony and with a material and intangible heritage embodied in the customs and traditions of the particular lifestyle of the "Porteño".

In this walking tour, we will have the opportunity to visit places of great heritage and architectural appeal, the Alegre and Concepción hills with their viewpoints and alleys full of stories of foreign immigrants who arrived in Valparaíso when this important port was considered "the jewel of the Pacific Ocean "(before the opening of the Panama Canal).

Plaza Sotomayor and the history of its heroes as well as Prat pier, to continue towards the historic center of the port declared a UNESCO Heritage Site where Plaza Echaurren, La Matriz and surroundings are located.

Additionally, in this tour we will use local public transport such as the Trolleybus, a unique rolling heritage in the country, being the second oldest service in South America in operation since 1952; and the traditional elevators that are an unmissable panorama, a heritage with more than a century of existence, necessary and used daily by its inhabitants.

It will be an in-depth experience, a deep visit to Valparaíso where stories and legends of this particular city that was never founded are recounted.

Hiking Cerro Concepción

Concepción Hill is one of the most visited hills in Valparaíso. It has also had other names, such as Cerro del Cabo and Cerro del Chivato, the latter being due to a mythological being that supposedly lived at the foot of the hill.
